Are Temporary Tattoos Safe?

This is a question we are asked a lot. People who are thinking of getting a temporary tattoo sometimes worry that they might suffer a bad reaction from it.

Maybe they’ve read some scarifying articles on the internet about mysterious ingredients causing allergic reactions from different parts of the world.

Well, we can only answer on behalf of TattooedNow! And if the question you’re asking is, are our temporary tattoos safe, we have a simple answer.

Yes. They. Are.

In fact, we’d go so far as to say our temporary tattoos are super-safe. In more than ten years we have never had a customer get in touch to say they suffered irritation or any other adverse reaction after applying one of our tattoos.

Everything that comes into contact with your skin when you buy a temporary tattoo from TattooedNow! has been checked and double checked.

The last thing we would want is for a customer of ours to suffer a bad experience from something that should be as safe and positive as the experience of getting a temporary tattoo.

The ink we use in our temporary tattoos is non-toxic. The paper they are transported on from us to you is coated in dextrose, a form of sugar, which has never affected anyone.

Even the adhesive used to attach the design firmly to your skin has been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States and is used by hospitals in the USA.

When you get a design from TattooedNow! you can do so with full confidence that we have done everything in our power to deliver the highest standards of temporary tattoo safety.

The only thing we would always advise is that you don’t place your tattoo on skin that is already broken or inflamed.

It’s also a good idea not to put any design or symbol too close to your eyes or mouth.

Apart from that, we advise that if you do find you suffer from any itchiness, redness or inflammation when you apply your temporary tattoo to your skin, you should remove it immediately.

But we can only reiterate that in more than a decade, nobody has ever got in touch to tell us they had an issue caused by one of our temporary tattoos.

If you're still not convinced, we suggest that you choose one of our very smallest designs as a dummy run. Apply it somewhere extremely safe, such as your arm, and make sure you don’t have any adverse after-effects.

Then you can move ahead with full confidence in our high standards of temporary tattoo safety and apply the design you really want to wear.
